In order to learn about the party’s glorious revolutionary history, and carry out Party and national education, while enhancing the party members’ cultivation and also celebrating the 98th anniversary of the Party, the KTC Huinan Party Branch launched the “Remember the Mission” themed educational topic learning exchange activity between July 13 and 14. This program reinforces party comrades’ ideals, beliefs, cohesiveness, and acts as a bridge between the past and the future.
Remembering the Revolution Martyrs, Huanghuagang Commemoration Park for the 72 Martyrs
While exploring the history of the revolution, participants got to read the last letters that the martyrs wrote to their families, and learn about all their heroic deeds which stirs up feelings of admiration. The participants also observed a moment of silence at the commemoration park of these national heroes. Some of the sculptures in the commemoration park praise the spirit of the revolutionary martyrs, while others embody the resistance and fighting spirit of the Chinese people. They represent the determination of generations of revolutionaries for the struggle for democracy and prosperity and is something that each of us should also strive for!
Immediately after, the party comrades visited Yuntai Gardens, the largest park of its type in China. Everyone was passionate, enthusiastic and in high spirits, and appreciated the picturesque scenery within the gardens. After dinner, the group took the “ICBC Peony Card” ferry for the “Zhongzheng Group” Pearl River Night Cruise, and enjoyed the stunning views of the banks of the Pearl “Mother” River.
Revisiting Our Glorious History, Promoting the “Spirit of Whampoa”, and Continuing Healthy Traditions
On July 14, during the morning, party members visited a patriotic education site, The Former Site of Whampoa Military Academy. Upon entering the gates of the former military academy, visitors are greeted with a sense of solemnness and awe that is unique to the military. The two walls on either side of the gates have the words “The revolution has not yet succeeded” and “Comrades, you must carry on”, to encourage the generations of Chinese people to continue to strive forward. Afterwards, all the party members carefully viewed every exhibit room, and they all felt a sense of positive energy while reviewing history. They learned the “Spirit of Whampoa” which encompasses “camaraderie, unity and cooperation, national defense, loving the people, and not being afraid of sacrifice”. At the end of the activities, everyone regrouped and went to Guangzhou’s Lingnan Impression Garden to experience the authentic Lingnan lifestyle. Although everyone was drenched in sweat during the tour, there was constant laughter and happiness. The entire team was in high spirits and enjoyed the tour.
This party event allowed the whole team of party comrades to experience the devotion and spirit of the former revolutionaries for themselves. They received a baptism of the revolutionary spirit, which further aroused their feelings of patriotism, cemented their ideals and beliefs, and increased their sense of responsibility and mission to loyally fulfill the mission of the “Two Protections” of the new era. The party members unanimously declared that they will “remember the mission” and will be devoted, dedicated, and loyal party members!
